For 16s Boys, any player who has represented in a NSWRL Junior Representative Harold Matthews Team in 2026 is eligible to APPLY for an exemption from the Phase 1 Trial. For those who aren’t age eligible for Harold Matthews, ie. Only turn 15 in 2026, selection into the CIS 15s Team in 2025 can be considered.

Application Forms must be completed by the School or Parents before the Nomination closing date, and must include all details including Contact Name and details for the relevant Junior Representative Coach.
N.B. each application will be considered on merit and in consultation with NRL Clubs…an application for exemption will not guarantee an exemption.
For those who are unsuccessful in their application, they must attend the Phase One Trial in order to be eligible for selection.
As per CIS Operational Guidelines, injury or illness is not considered as a reason for exemption from trials.
