The NSWCIS Primary & Secondary Cross Country Championships will now be held on Wednesday 8th June 2022.
Trial Time
Gates Open - 7:50am
Secondary Walk the Course - 9:00am
Course Closed - 9:50am
Event 1 - 10:00am
Primary Walk the Course - 1:00pm
Course Closed - 1:45pm
Event 16 - 1:53pm

Trial Format
Inter Association Competition with both individual and school team events, for boys and girls. Competition is age based. All students must compete in their age group as at 31/12 in the year of competition.
Please note Primary students must be 8 - 13. While 8, 9 & 13 Year olds may represent CIS and compete at PSSA they cannot be selected in the State PSSA team
Secondary students may not turn 20 in the year of competition
COVID- 19 Guidelines:
All competitors, spectators and officials are to adhere to all COVID – 19 Guidelines being applied at a CIS venue.
At any venue, all competitors, spectators and officials are to maintain physical distancing, wash/sanitise their hands regularly and refrain form entering a venue if they are felling unwell.

Parking
Venue entry for all compeitiors, officials and spectators will be via the Main Entrance AA off Ferrers Road.
Spectator parking will be on the Skidpan.
Team and Association Official's Parking will be on the Paddock - a parking permit displayed on the dashboard will be required for this area.
First Aid
Paramedics will be available. The ambulance will be located near the exit from the finish line. Students that use asthma puffers or Epi-Pens should have them with them on the day. Students are to provide their own sunscreen.
Dress
Students must compete in association running strip. Running shoes must be worn, no spikes. No ipods allowed.
Food & Drink
Refreshments, lunches, drinks and snacks are available from food outlets at the centre.
CIS Team
The top 6 place getters in each event at the Primary level and the top 10 place getters at the Secondary level automatically qualify for the NSWCIS Primary and Secondary Cross Country Team. This team will compete at the NSW PSSA/All Schools Cross Country Championships to be held on Friday 22 July at Sydney Motorsport Park. These students are required to report to the Hinxman room at the conclusion of their race. Team members will need to register, pay the levy and purchase uniform on the day.
Costs associated with competing at the next level include the Team member Levy: approximately $40 and Mandatory Uniform Costs: approximately $215.
Students with a Disability
Multi Class athletes wishing to compete must have a provisional / national classification registered with NSWCIS and fall within the following categories-
Intellectually Impaired ID - T20
Hearing Impaired - T01 (AU2) Athletes with a T01 (AU2) classification will be required to remove any hearing devices prior to the commencement of the race or once final instructions have been given by the starter.
Visually Impaired - T11 athletes must have a guide
T12 and T13 athleties may elect to have a guide

The following classifications require a medical clearance to participate. Medical clearance documentation to be provided to the State convener 14 days prior to the NSWPSSA State Cross Country
- Short stature - T40 or T41
- Transplant - T60
- Lower limb (with prosthesis) - T62, T63 or T64
As there are qualification times for NSW All Schools for Multi Class athletes, selection in the CIS Team will be at the discretion of the NSWCIS Cross Country Committee.
(iii) Athletes in Multi Class events must be officially classified and appear on the Athletics Australia (AA) or Sport Inclusion Australia Master lists.
- The Athlete's name must appear on the AA Master List prior to the CIS Cross Country Championship.
- Athletes with a Physical classification must appear on the AA Master List with an official classification status of Provisional, Review or Confirmed National Classification.
Wet Weather
The CIS Cross Country will go ahead regardless of the weather. In adverse conditions students should come prepared with additional clothing and footware for after their event.
Please note: The 2022 NSWCIS Cross Country Championships will be operating on the Wet Weather Course Maps. The 6km race is based on 2 laps of the 3km course. The 8km race is based on 2 laps of the 4km course.
