CIS Primary Rugby Union Trials 1 & 2

Trial Time:
9:00am - 2:30pm;
Trial Format:
TRIAL TIMETABLE
Trial 1: 9.00am - 11:30am;
Trial 2: 12:00pm - 2:30pm;
Both Trials 1 & 2 will involve a skills session followed by match play;
Following the close of nominations, schools will be informed of which trial their nominated students are to attend;
COVID- 19 Guidelines:
All competitors, spectators and officials are to adhere to all COVID – 19 Guidelines being applied at a CIS venue.
At any venue, all competitors, spectators and officials are to maintain physical distancing, wash/sanitise their hands regularly and refrain form entering a venue if they are felling unwell.

First Aid:
A First Aid Officer will be in attendance for the duration of the trials.
Players should bringtheir own strapping with them if required.
Any Student who uses an Asthma Puffer or Epi-Pen should have them with them.
Dress:
Jerseys will be provided...Students should wear their School Shorts & Socks;
Students should bring their own personal protective gear e.g. mouthguard, shinpads, helmets.
Food & Drink:
There will be no Canteen Facilities available at the Venue...Players should provide their own snacks, lunch and water.
CIS Team:
At the conclusion of Trials 1 & 2, a squad will be named to return for Trial 3, to be held on Thursday 26 May.
Officials:
There is a pathway at the Primary level for talented Secondary student rugby referees. Student referees need to nominate to attend the primary trials as a referee, so that their proficiency to referee at the PSSA level can be assessed. If selected the referee accompanies the CIS Primary Rugby Team to the PSSA Championships. The pathway continues to the SSA Rugby Championships if a student referee is considered to be of an appropriate standard.
Wet Weather:
In the unlikely event that the trials are postponed due to Wet Weather information will be posted on the website.
