RELAYS
In line with All Schools rulings ,  “Senior” relays, are now  OPEN events . S
wimmers may only swim in one relay by type. Eg A swimmer can only swim in one 4x50 Freestyle, one 4 x 50 Medley relay and one 6 x 50 Freestyle relay.

Exhibition Association Based Relays

In 2021 RAS and NCIS have the option of entering association based (rather than school-based) Relay teams as “exhibition” entries. Exhibition medals will be awarded however the team is ineligible to progress to the NSW All Schools Level.  The top three school-based relay teams will be allocated medals and progress to the NSW All Schools Championships.  e.g.  If an association based team was to place second in the event, the first school team would receive gold medals, the association team would receive silver medals, the second placed school team would also receive silver medals, and the third placed school team would receive bronze medals

Please consider the following when entering Relays

Please ensure all Dates of Birth and Year Groups are entered and correct spelling for each student so they may legally have times verified by Swimming NSW.

Associations should send relay entry lists in correct swimming order when submitting entries.

On arrival, Association team managers need to make any adjustments to relay orders. The closing time for changes will be at the conclusion of the warm-up time, which will be 5.45pm. Teams who are found to be swimming out of nominated order will be disqualified.

At Marshalling, the lead off swimmer is to enter the designated marshalling area to be checked in. Once in this area, swimmers must remain seated as required by the Marshalls. Other relay members will be asked to wait in the designated area until called by the Check Starters.

No late Nominations will be accepted.

Method Nomination

Association team Lists must be submitted through Meet Manager,, by the due date

Association competitors also need to be nominated to the swimming portal on the CIS website prior to the Championships.  Schools are encouraged to nominate those students selected in their association swim team to attend the CIS Championships, particularly those that have made the CIS Team in previous years.  This can be done in the normal way through the Teachers and School Officials hub.  This will help to ensure that registration and purchase of uniform for the CIS team proceeds smotthly nad efficiaently on the day.

•Withdrawals - Each association is responsible for their own replacement but this information must be provided to the recorders 15 minutes prior to the race to avoid disqualification.

Officials

CIS Secondary Swimming Association Official Duties Allocation Form is due on Tuesday 5 April - Please return to  Andrew Aebi  and Lyndall Jesse. The form will be linked HERE once it becomes available.

It is the responsibility of each association to ensure all officials and student helpers as outlined in the Association Officials Duties Form are allocated and present at the carnival. THESE ARE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS. It is expected that officials will be aware of their specific job and have had experience in the role at the association level.  Those officials not registered to the CIS website wil be required to provide their WWC Number and Date of Birth on the form.

Teacher Officials: Requirements for teachers have been kept to a minimum so it is essential that those listed ARE teachers. Should an official fail to register at the beginning of the day it is the association's responsibility to find a replacement.

Students Helpers: These are essential for the smooth running of the carnival and their availability reduces the number of teachers required at the carnival. Associations must fullfil their student allocation. If students are unavailable adult helpers MUST be supplied.

Parent Officials: Please ensure that non teachers have completed a Working with Children check. This will need to be noted on the nomination form.

Please note:

Uniform Duty: Adults or senior students

Marshalls: Teacher

Associations that do not fill their association duties will be fined.

All Schools Official Duties: Coming Soon
