Inter Association Championship
Age Divisions
12 years, 13 years, 14 years, 15 years, 16 years, 17 years, 18-19 years
Multi-Class: 15 & Under, 16 & Over
All ages are as at 31 December in the Year of Competition. A competitor whose significant birthday occurs during the current year is eligible for that age event only. Competitors may only complete in 1 relay (14 & Under or Open).
N.B. All entered Para Athletes must have a current valid classification - see Athletics Australia Mastersheet or Sport Inclusion Australia.

TRACK
100m, 200m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, Hurdles (see program for distances)
4 x 100m Relay - Junior, Senior, Small School
Para Athlete:100m, 200m, & 800m
N.B. Races will be seeded fastest to slowest for all Timed Final Events.
Track events take precedence over field events.
FIELD
Shot Put, Discus, Javelin, High Jump, Long Jump, TrIple Jump
Para Athlete: Shot Put, Discus, Long Jump
N.B. All competitors will receive 3 throws or jumps. Competitors will need to make a qualifying distance to have their throw or jump measured. They will continue to compete, however, unless they pass the distance, and attempt will not be measured.
Track events take precedence over field events.

N.B. The CIS Secondary Athletics Championships are conducted under IAAF rules unless stipulated in the program.
Athletes will not be able to use their own implements for throws. the only allowable equipment will be that provided by SOPAC.

N.B. Times are an approximation only and will not be accepted as a reason for any competitor missing their event. Alteration at the discretion of the Championship Manager should circumstances arise.

If you do not give permission for you child to be live streamed, please contact CIS. Schools /associations to notify CIS of any students they know are not to be live streamed

Additional Information
Withdrawals: Each Association is responsible for their own replacements. Students that are not withdrawn and do not compete will be charged the Nomination Fee.
Spectators: Spectators are encouraged to stay in the grandstand area. No spectators are permitted in the Arena. This includes Parents, Guardians and Coaches.
Parking: Parking is available in the Sydney Olympic Park P2 Car Park for a flat rate of $21 for the day.
First Aid: There is a First Aid Room at Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre and an attendant will be present throughout the day.
The First Aid Room is located under the grandstand at the end of the 100m track. Students who use asthma puffers or Epi-Pens should have them at the Championships.
Dress: Association Athletic Singlet must be worn.
All competitors must wear footwear.
When spiked shoes are worn the maximum length for all track events and Long Jump is 7mm. For High Jump and Javelin it is 9mm.
Only 'Pyramid' or 'Christmas Tree' spikes (also called compression tiered spikes) are to be used on the track for athletic activity. Needle Spike are not permitted. Spikes are only permitted on the Competition Arena and must not be worn in spectator areas or indoors.
All athletes wearing spiked shoes MUST use starting blocks (supplied by SOPAC only) in laned events up to and including 400m, and the first runner of a relay (Para Athletes excluded). These athletes will not be permitted to do a crouch start without blocks nor will they be able to do a standing start. This is a decision enforced by SOPAC for track preservation and longevity.
All competitors and officials are advised to bring a cap, sunscreen, and water bottle with them.
Food & Drink: There will be food/service concession available at the venue.
Protests: Any protests must come through the Association Team Manager only.
Weather: The CIS Secondary Athletics Championships will be held regardless of the weather. In adverse conditions students should come prepared with extra clothes for after their event. Some events may be delayed or cancelled at the discretion of the Championship Manager if the nature of the event causes safety concerns due to the weather conditions.
Personal Marquees: Unfortunately, spectators will be unable to bring and set-up their own personal gazebos. This is a decision enforced by SOPAC to ensure the safety and welfare of all Competitors and Spectators.
CIS Secondary Merit Team
The CIS Secondary Athletics Merit Team will be selected based on the top 3 placegetters in each event. Those who medal should report to the Madison de Rozario Room to register, and are entitled to purchase Exclusive CIS Representitive Team Uniform - this is optional.
Selection in the CIS Secondary Merit Team will be confirmed on the CIS website following the CIS Championships.
CIS do not submit a team to the NSW All Schools Athletics Championships. Students are not permitted to compete in CIS athletics strip at the NSW All Schools Track and Field Meet. Students that wish to compete in the NSW All Schools Athletics Championships will need to submit an individual entry form. These are available on the Athletics NSW website. Registrations for this event close on Friday 13 September 2024, with the event scheduled for 28 September to 2 October 2024.
